Jimmy Turner Returns Home

Jimmy Turner Signing

IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County Blues Football Club has re-signed James “Jimmy” Turner for his second season with the club. The Mission Viejo native is best known for his successful seasons with the Anteaters of University of California, Irvine before signing with LA Blues in 2013. At Anteater Stadium, Jimmy was part of the 2008 squad that made school history when the Anteaters won the Big West title for the first time and made it to the NCAA Tournament. His passion for soccer goes beyond playing, as he spends his free time coaching at his alma mater, Mission Viejo High School, and at Strikers FC.

“I’m really excited to return to Anteater Stadium and not have homework to do after games,” said Jimmy, who is one of few professional athletes who will play his home games at his college field.

Jimmy is looking forward to a positive season with the team and aims to go further into the playoffs this year, with the ultimate goal of winning the USL PRO Championship.

“Jimmy was fantastic in his rookie campaign in USL PRO. We are looking for him to continue his success on the field. He was a mainstay in the back line throughout all of 2013. We fully expect him to be one of the top defenders in the league.”  – Blues General Manager Jon Spencer.
