IRVINE, Calif. –  The OC Blues FC kick the season off this Saturday night as they visit the LA Galaxy II at the StubHub Center in their inaugural USL PRO season opener.  Gates open at 6 p.m. PT, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. PT.  The LA Galaxy II have recently become a part of USL PRO, and the club is the first of its kind, as the LA Galaxy are the first Major League Soccer club to own and operate a USL PRO team within the club’s player development structure.

OC Blues FC recently rebranded from Los Angeles Blues to the Orange County Blues Football Club. While the club has a new name, a number of familiar faces from last season are returning from last year’s playoff team, including James Turner and Chris Cortez, who had nine goals for the Blues last summer.

The Blues have also added 2013 All-League selection Gibson Bardsley, who had nine goals and seven assists for Dayton last season, and former Charlotte Eagles forward William Prado, as well as other players from across the country and overseas who bring National Team experience.

2014 marks the first time soccer and all sports fans will have the opportunity to experience a true Orange County versus Los Angeles rivalry in USL PRO. The OC versus LA derby begins Saturday, and the clubs will clash three more times during the regular season.

For those unable to attend Saturday’s USL PRO Southern California Derby, the game will also be aired live and free on YouTube. Tune in to watch all the action live, or on demand, via the Galaxy’s YouTube channel.

Become a part of soccer history in Orange County. OC Blues FC’s first home match is at Anteater Stadium at UCI Saturday, April 5th, as the Blues welcome expansion franchise OKC Energy FC.
