OC Blues FC Set to Battle Sacramento Republic

IRVINE, Ca.-  The Orange County Blues will host Sacramento Republic FC at Anteater Stadium, this Saturday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m PT.

Sacramento Republic will continue their inaugural California stretch in Orange County with a 1-1 tie with LA Galaxy II and a 3-1 win over Chivas USA Reserves. Sacramento Republic FC is a new addition to USL PRO and has affiliate agreements between the Portland Timbers and the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer (MLS). This makes Republic FC the first and only USL PRO club to be affiliated with not one, but two MLS clubs. Coached by U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame member Pedrag Radosavljevic, Republic FC is ready to take on Southern California rival OC Blues.

The Blues are entering the battle determined and eager to have their first win for Orange County. They have had rough start with a 2-1 loss versus LA GalaxyII and a 2-0 loss versus OKC Energy FC, at their inaugural match, but have been inspired by the support they have received in Orange County.

“Thank you for the support and keep pushing with us and we will bring the 3 points for you,” said Stephen Okai to Blues fans. Okai, is a recent addition from Charlotte Eagles and the first to score a goal in OC Blues history.
