IRVINE, CA.- The Orange County Blues set off on their first road trip of the season to face their Northern California rival, Sacramento Republic FC, on Saturday, May 3rd, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 PM P.T. at Hughes Stadium.
The Blues faced Republic FC earlier this season on April 12th at Anteater Stadium, and earned their first win of the season with a 2-1 final. Although both teams lost their previous matches, they are ready to continue the California rivalry.
Sacramento Republic FC held their first home match against Harrisburg City Islanders where they lost 2-1. The score may not have been in their favor, but the Republic fans certainly were. Sacramento set a new USL PRO regular-season attendance record with 20,231 fans on Saturday night.

“We are all looking forward to the atmosphere in Sacramento. I hope we come back with a win,” said midfielder Joshua Suggs. Playing at Sacramento is a great opportunity for USL PRO players to compete in an MLS-like atmosphere, and most players have yet to experience a stadium of 20,000 people.
