McKenzie Named to USL PRO Team of the Week, Russell and Santana Honorable Mentions

IRVINE, CA (May 6, 2014) – USL PRO named Orange County’s Rauwshan McKenzie to its Team of the Week for Week 7 of the 2014 season.

Despite the 2-1 loss against Sacramento FC, McKenzie had an incredible performance on defense. The Portland Timbers loanee prevented several goal scoring opportunities for Republic FC.

In addition, Allan Russell and Jiovanni Santana received Honorable Mentions in Week 7’s Team of the Week. Russell, after creeping behind the Sacramento defense, headed home a cross from Santana in the 48th minute for Orange County’s goal in the match.

USL PRO named Charleston Battery goalkeeper Odisnel Cooper the Player of the Week, after he recorded a pair of shutouts in the Battery’s two road wins during the weekend.

OC Blues FC is looking forward to return to Irvine and play in front of their home crowd in Week 8 of USL PRO, at Anteater Stadium on May 8th at 7:30PM as they face the Charlotte Eagles.
