Charlotte’s equalizer came from Wells Thompson who received a through ball from Fred Sekyere and slotted it by OKC’s goalkeeper. Fresh in from Chicago, Alec Kann stood tall after the Eagles evened the score and helped the hosts to a well-earned point at home. Charlotte currently sports a 3-7-1 record, with 13 points on the season. Veteran Jorge Herrera leads the Eagles with four goals on the season.

Orange County arrives after a 4-1 loss to Orlando City SC in their first game in the East. The Blues’ only goal, and first goal of the match, was scored by Jiovanni Santana in the 37th minute, after capitalizing on a counter-attack. After a City corner kick, Goalkeeper Josh Ford did well to quickly throw the ball to Seattle Sounders Loanee, Sean Okoli.

With only two City players in the defensive third, the powerful striker ventured on a 40 yard run before rolling the ball into space for Midfielder Jiovanni Santana, who gave the Blues 1-0 lead. The goal marked Santana’s second goal of 2014 season. The Blues now have a record of 5-8-0 and in 7th place of USL Pro Standings.
