Blues Set to Battle Chivas USA Reserves

IRVINE, CA (June 20, 2014)- Orange County Blues FC welcomes Chivas USA Reserves to Anteater Stadium on Saturday night at 7 p.m. PST.  

Chivas USA Reserves come to Orange County with a 1-3-1 record. The Goats come across the Orange Curtain, last defeating USL Pro’s Arizona United SC, 4-0, on May 24th.

Currently there are 8 Major League Soccer reserve teams; FC Dallas, Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders, Chicago Fire, Montreal Impact, New York Red Bulls, and Colorado Rapids. Chivas USA Reserves hold 6th place in the MLS Reserves League.

Rumor has it Chivas USA Reserves is bringing their first team to Orange County. You could possibly see players like Carlos Bocanegra, Matthew Fondy, Dan Kennedy, and other Chivas USA first team players.

It will be a USL Pro team going against an MLS Team, in rival territory.

The Blues are back home after a 2 game road trip where they lost, 4-1, to Orlando City, and won 1-0 against Charlotte Eagles. With a record of 6-8-0, the OC Blues will make sure to obtain an extra three points in front of their home crowd.

Orange County has won their past two home games against Dayton Dutch Lions and Arizona United SC. During Saturday night’s game, you will be able to witness the retirement of Iranian National and Blues’ Goalkeeper Mohammad Mohammadi who played a total of 12 matches with the Blues and held an amazing 19-year career in the United States and Iran. Join the Blues on Saturday at Anteater Stadium as we celebrate his wonderful career.
