OC Blues FC celebrates July 4th in Sacramento

IRVINE, CA (July 3, 2014)- Orange County heads to Northern California to face Sacramento Republic FC this 4th of July. Kick-off is scheduled 7:30 p.m PST at Bonney Field. Support the Blues and watch live on youtube.com/sacrepublicfc.

The match will be the third matchup between the two sides this year. In both of the prior matchups the home side has come away victorious by a score of 2-1. The first matchup was held at Anteater Stadium and was the first loss in franchise history for Republic FC. The second match was held at Hughes Stadium and was the first home win in franchise history for Republic FC.

Republic FC enters the match after falling to Oklahoma City Energy FC 2-0 on June 28. Despite controlling possession for most of the match and outshooting Oklahoma City 10-6, Republic FC were unable to score and dropped their second straight against Energy FC.
The Blues won their previous game against Arizona United SC with a 3-2 final after being down 2-0 in the first half.

Orange County is fifth in USL PRO standings with a 8-8-0 record. The Blues are the only team in the league without a draw, and are climbing the league table fast.

Forward Allan Russell leads the team with 14 points (six goals, four assists) and is fifth in USL PRO in points this season. Forward Christopher Cortez is second on the team with 10 points (five goals).
