IRVINE, CA (July 11, 2014)- The Blues are ready to face Arizona United SC in Orange County this Saturday July 12 at 7pm P.S.T. at Anteater Stadium, located on the campus of University of California Irvine.

OC Blues FC is hosting “Give Back Night”, where fans can bring 3 non-perishable items for the OC Food Bank to our match on Saturday night vs Arizona United SC, and get $10 admission! Enjoy time with the family, as there will be a bounce house and face painting.

These two teams have met twice this 2014 USL PRO season. The first time the west coast rivals met was at Anteater Stadium on May 31st, where the Blues were victorious with a 2-0 win. The second matchup was in Peoria, AZ, where Blues had their greatest comeback this season. Orange County was down 2-0 in the first half, but scored three straight goals, including the game-winner by Andrew Hoxie in second half stoppage time, to steal a 3-2 victory. These same teams meet once more this season at Peoria Sports Complex on July 19th.

Orange County heads into this match after a 2-1 loss against Sacramento Republic FC on July 7th, a game that was originally scheduled for July 4th. A wildfire in the area of the stadium forced the game’s postponement. Forward Gabriel Gonzalez scored the only goal, his first goal with the Blues this season, off an assist from Mehrshad Momeni.

The Blues remain in fifth place of the USL PRO standings, with a record of 8-9-0 and a total of 24 points. Just ahead of the Blues is Sacramento, and a win tomorrow would inch Orange County closer to that fourth place position. Sacramento faces the Richmond Kickers on Saturday, who sit in second place.

Arizona United SC comes to Orange County after a 4-2 defeat to the other west coast team, LA Galaxy II, on Saturday at StubHub Center. United sits in 14th place of the USL PRO Standings, with a total of 13 points.
