IRVINE, CA (August 1, 2014)- The Orange County Blues head out on a four game road swing, starting off against Oklahoma City Energy FC on Saturday August 2nd, kicking off at 5pm PST at Pribil Stadium. The match will be broadcasted live on youtube.com/okcenergyfc.

The two have met twice before, making this their third face-off this season. OKC makes their return trip to Irvine to close out the season on September 6th.

Energy FC first came to Orange County on April 5th, making the home opener for the Blues bittersweet, taking a 2-1 victory in front of the club’s record-breaking attendance. The Blues returned the favor, as they won 1-0 in stoppage time at Pribil Stadium on May 10th.

Oklahoma City hosts the Blues after a great win against Dayton Dutch Lions. Kyle Greig, Paul Wyatt and Michael Thomas all scored a goal giving their goalkeeper, Samir Badr, a confident shutout. For his efforts, Greig was named the USL PRO Player of the Week. OKC has a total of 26 points, putting them in 7th place of the USL PRO standings, with a record of 7-8-5.

Orange County was unable to secure a victory in the month of July. The Blues took tough defeats against Sacramento Republic FC and  Arizona United SC before Saturday. Their Southern California rival, LA Galaxy II, came to town, and in a match that never seemed to end, the Blues struggled to contain Los Dos. LA took a 4-0 victory, leaving Orange County in the 8th spot of the USL PRO standings with 24 points, sporting an 8-12-0 record.

Despite the record during the month of July, the Blues head to Oklahoma with plenty optimism and look forward for another bonding opportunity within the team.

Forward Christopher Cortez, who’s recovering from an injury, has a record of 10 points from 5 goals this season .
