Blues Look to Drain the Battery in Charleston

IRVINE, CA (August 12, 2014) – The Orange County Blues face the Charleston Battery on Wednesday, August 13 at 4:30PM PST, at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina. This will be the only time the two meet in the regular season, and the final road game for the Blues in the 2014 regular season. Catch the game live on

The Blues (27 points on 23 games, 9-14-0) finally obtained a win on Sunday with a 1-0 victory against Rochester Rhinos, ending a six game draught. With the victory, the Blues moved into eighth place in USL PRO standings, getting them closer to clinching a playoff spot.

The Battery (26 points on 22 games, 6-8-8) have been taking care of business during the Blues’ summer slump. The home side is on a five-match unbeaten streak, its longest of 2014, climbing from a tie for last place to contention for a playoff spot. The team is now in the middle of a three-match home stand, and holds a game in hand on Orange County heading into Wednesday’s showdown.
