Blues to Face C.D. Atlético Marte in Big Offseason Test

IRVINE, CA (Nov. 15, 2014) – Orange County Blues FC will host an international friendly against a first division team from El Salvador, Club Deportivo Atlético Marte, this Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Santa Ana Stadium in Santa Ana, California.
C.D. Atlético Marte, also known as “Los Maricanos”, is a top team from El Salvador. “Los Maricanos” have won eight Primera Division titles as well as the 1991 CONCACAF Cup Winners Cup.
Sharing their home stadium, Estadio Cuscatlan, with the national team from El Salvador, Atlético Marte will include four national team players in their 18-man roster for Sunday’s game. “La Selecta” players include defender Mario Martinez, defender Marcelo Tejeda, forward Danis Ramirez, and defender Francisco Garcia. 
The game will serve as great preparation for the Blues who expect to field a team which includes many returning players from the 2014 season, along with several potential new signees and trialist. Competing against a top level club from El Salvador will be a steep test for the Blues.
Orange County defender Josh Suggs is excited for the test he and his teammates face against an international foe: “We want to show [fans] that we can compete at the highest level. We also want to show how well we can do, and we hope that fans in attendance will come out to support us in our 2015 season.”
The international friendly is scheduled to kickoff at 4 P.M. P.T with gates opening at 2:30 P.M. Tickets for the match are available for $25 for general admission seating. VIP midfield seats are available for $30. Tickets can be bought day of game at Santa Ana Stadium.
